Praise The Lord!

God commanded and His creation came into being. ( Psalm 148:5) In Psalm 148, the psalmist urged for God to be praised as all of His creation does so. God’s creation praises Him by EXHIBITING THE POWER He placed within it and FULFILLING THE PURPOSES for which it was created.

Included in the verses of this psalm we read…
“(11) Kings of the earth and ALL PEOPLES, princes and all rulers of the earth! (12) YOUNG MEN and MAIDENS together, OLD MEN and CHILDREN! (13) LET THEM PRAISE THE NAME OF THE LORD, for HIS NAME alone is exalted; HIS MAJESTY is above earth and heaven.” ( Psalm 148:11-13 ESV)

Praising God! Something for all of us to do! How well are we joining in chorus with the rest of God’s creation? How well is HIS POWER being exhibited in our daily lives? Is it HIS PURPOSES or our own others see dominating our activities?

As I write this it is about 8:32 in the morning. You may wonder what significance there is in that. It was about this time, twenty-five years ago today, that we were on our way to the church building in Toledo, Washington where I preached and witnessed the POWER OF GOD’S CREATION; the eruption of Mount Saint Helens. There has been a lot of focus planned for this week in the area affected by that eruption and especially for today being the twenty-fifth anniversary of that event. Over the years our family has shared our stories of what we saw and experienced; an event we will never forget. God’s creation is truly awesome in its exhibiting of God’s design and power.

It is also amazing to now see the renewal of life in an area that was so devastated twenty-five years ago. The RENEWAL OF LIFE God makes possible for us ( 2 Corinthians 3:18; 4:16) is another one of the many blessings for which we should ever praise God!

Over the next two days I will be sending out two previous “teEn-MAIL” focuses which were drawn from the remembrance of the 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens. However, for today, read through Psalm 148 and reflect on all that comes to mind for which God is worthy of the daily praise of OUR LIFE.

Have a great day LIVING TO REVEAL GOD’S POWER AND PURPOSE!
Carl
