Don't Forget This Grease!

WD-40 ®, lightweight oil, grease, graphite; all wonderful lubricants designed to make things WORK smoother and easier. Well oiled machinery runs better, greased joints rotate more smoothly, and lubricant sprayed hinges and sliding doors and windows WORK with less effort. However, with all the benefits of these lubricants there is still one grease which cannot be forgotten. When it comes to many of this life’s tasks there is still no substitute for good old fashioned roll up your sleeves “elbow grease”. Even with regard to our labors to the glory of God, we are not only to put our back into the WORK, but our all as well!

In light of the things we can do in this life, Solomon stated….
“Whatever your hand finds to do, DO IT WITH YOUR MIGHT, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol [the grave], to which you are going.” ( Ecclesiastes 9:10 ESV)

If it needs to be done and is worth doing, why should we not put our all into it? A little bit of “elbow grease” can go a long way when it is applied to our WORK for the Lord. With our willingness accompanied by His wisdom and strength there is much that can be accomplished. Whatever our hand finds to do, may we apply some “elbow grease” and do it with our might to the glory of God.
