Super Bond!
Varying situations in life reveal who our true friends are. Perspectives offered regarding the subject of friends include statements such as “He who ceases to be your friend never was a good one.” and “A friend that you can buy with presents can be bought away from you.” Activities “friends” choose to join together in can also have a bearing on how cemented (or not) that relationship is for it has also been stated that “Friendships cemented together with sin do not hold.”
Those who becomes “friends in crime”, if one gets caught they generally tell on the other so they both end up “doing the time.” Unrighteous activities (involvement in sin) with others not only places one at odds with God, but most often with each other as well. There is a greater bond we should seek to apply to our relationships with one another.
Paul exhorted those at Colosse…
“(12) Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, (13) bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. (14) And above all these put on LOVE, WHICH BINDS EVERYTHING TOGETHER in perfect harmony.” ( Colossians 3:12-14 ESV)
The only thing which has lasting power to cement relationships together is LOVE. Without it we have nothing. (note 1 Corinthians 13:1-3) The super bond of genuine LOVE is vital to our relationship with God, within our families, and in the church because it is the thing which never fails. ( 1 Corinthians 13:8).
Have a great day EXPERIENCING THE LOVE THAT STICKS!
