Praise Be To God!

Blunders! Errors! Foul ups! Goof ups! Mistakes! Mess ups! Slip-ups! Whatever you want to call them we all make them and don’t like attention drawn to them. They seem to be an inescapable part of our lives. Perhaps we feel people tend to remember our blunders more than when we get things right and that if we have just enough SUCCESSES maybe we can feel a sense of redemption for the mistakes we have made. Someone has said, “Success covers a multitude of blunders.” [source: calendar quote] There are times when a great SUCCESS can overshadow the blunders made along the way. Is the only thing we can hope for is to have more SUCCESSES than blunders?

We are limited in what we can do when it comes to redeeming ourselves from life’s blunders. Our personal SUCCESSES are not enough to redeem us from our sins. It is not a matter of hoping we have more good things to outweigh the bad. Though we must aim to live godly lives, we can never be “good enough” to redeem ourselves. We must trust in and rely upon the grace of God for that as we live our lives in Christ.

James pointed out that “love covers a multitude of sins.” ( James 5:20) Certainly love is what was behind God’s adequate provision for redeeming us.

Paul noted with regard to this fact…
“(8) but GOD SHOWS HIS LOVE FOR US IN THAT WHILE WE WERE STILL SINNERS, CHRIST DIED FOR US. (9) Since, therefore, we have now BEEN JUSTIFIED BY HIS BLOOD, much more shall we be SAVED BY HIM from the wrath of God.” ( Romans 5:8-9 ESV)

The sacrifice of Christ is the only adequate means of dealing with life’s blunders. It is through the SUCCESS of Christ enduring the cross and shedding His powerful blood that our sins can be covered.

Paul noted this SUCCESS in his letter to the church at Corinth.
“(56) The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. (57) But thanks be to GOD, WHO GIVES US THE VICTORY THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.” ( 1 Corinthians 15:56-57 ESV)

Therein lies our SUCCESS story. Our Lord’s SUCCESS in fulfilling the plan of the Father has provided the adequate means for complete forgiveness. ( 1 John 1:7) May we praise God for such a provision as we strive to live daily in accordance with His Will.

Have a great day KNOWING HE’S GOT US COVERED!
