Keeping In Touch!

Our society today is a very mobile one. People are always on the go, commutes between work and home for many are long, some make frequent business trips across country and around the world, there are families who pack up and move from one place to another every few years, etc. For some, the way they keep things good in their relationships is by calling or e-mailing HOME frequently. With computers, wireless modems, video conferencing, cell phones, picture phones, etc., keeping in touch with co-workers and with loved ones at HOME has never been easier. Those who rely upon such methods of communication on a daily (even hourly) basis may wonder how they ever got along without them.

The statement has been made that “As a child of God, PRAYER is kind of like CALLING HOME EVERY DAY.” Are we as diligent (or even more so) regarding keeping in touch with God as we are with close family and friends? I have seen some whom I’ve wondered if the cell phone next to their ear was attached. I see people in the grocery store line, driving, walking, jogging, eating, etc., with a cell phone to their ear. Sometimes this is to the neglect of what they should be focusing on. However, how much focus in centered on the most important relationship of all?

Paul exhorted…
“PRAY WITHOUT CEASING.” ( 1 Thessalonians 5:17 ESV)

Long before anyone ever knew what electronics were, we have had the privilege of “wireless” communication HOME to our Heavenly Father. Let us maintain a spirit of PRAYER, recognizing that at anytime and anywhere our thoughts and PRAYERS can connect us with our eternal HOME.

Have a great day KNOWING HE CAN HEAR YOU NOW!
Carl
