Believe It!

We have heard the warning not to believe everything we read. News stories, statistics, and information of various kinds found in newspapers, magazines, and other written media can be biased, inaccurate, or outright false. With all the information that can be found on the internet this warning may be especially needful. However, perhaps the thing that creates an even greater challenge is reflected in what I read yesterday on a bumper sticker which simply stated, “Don’t Believe Everything You Think!” The reason it is good to consider that statement is because of what God revealed through His prophet Isaiah.

We read…
“(8) For MY THOUGHTS ARE NOT YOUR THOUGHTS, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. (9) For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways HIGHER than your ways and MY THOUGHTS THAN YOUR THOUGHTS.”
( Isaiah 55:8-9 ESV)

Are our perceptions always accurate? Do we look at situations and ever come to the wrong conclusions? It is far too possible for us to give thought to something and be wrong. We are imperfect beings still in need of learning and seeking wisdom beyond ourselves. On the other hand, WHAT GOD HAS DECLARED we can believe. As He made clear through Isaiah, He is in a league of His own.

In order for us to maintain a proper perspective as we go through life we need to continually ACCEPT WHAT GOD SAYS and meditate upon it. Allowing HIS THOUGHTS to become our thoughts is the way for us to be right.

Have a great day MAINTAINING A MIND FOCUSED ON GOD’S WILL!

[SPECIAL NOTE: The authorship of yesterday’s poem was sent to me so I can now give honor to whom honor is due. “The Man In The Glass” has had some wording changes done to it over the years and some have even attached their own name to it. However, it was originally called “The Guy In The Glass” and was written by Peter “Dale” Wimbrow, Sr., in 1934.]
