Who We Know!

There are some situations in life where it is concluded it is not what you know, but who you know that makes the difference. The “who you know” is what at times gets people moved up the ladder in the business world or in social circles. Sometimes the “who you know” can even get one off the hook in unpleasant circumstances. There is also an element of truth to this statement which we should consider with regard to our approach to day to day living.

We live life recognizing there are many unknowns. Though we may set goals and make plans for the FUTURE regarding furthering education, employment, family, retirement, etc., we do so understanding the possibility all may not turn out exactly as imagined. Some dreams for this life may never be realized while others may turn out better than foreseen. However, there is a constant to which we can link our lives to provide the sense of stability we need. Someone has stated, “Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” [source: “1600 Squibs And Quips”, compiled by E. C. McKenzie]

Paul approached his ministry and service to God with diligence and humility. We know from the record in Acts and statements Paul made in his letters that he experienced many challenges to his ministry, but many successes as well. And regardless of the unknowns, he continued to press on. Paul unashamedly proclaimed the Gospel of salvation through Christ wherever he went. Even chains and imprisonment could not silence this man. (2 Timothy
2:9) Regardless of the unknowns he might face, Paul was willing to press on (i.e. Acts 21:13) because of the God he did know!

Perhaps one of Paul’s greatest and most concise faith statements is as
follows:
“…But I am not ashamed, for I KNOW WHOM I HAVE BELIEVED, and I AM CONVINCED that HE IS ABLE TO GUARD UNTIL THAT DAY WHAT HAS BEEN ENTRUSTED TO HIM.” ( 2 Timothy 1:12 ESV)

Yes, WHO we know and trust our FUTURE to will make all the difference in how we go through each day. May we keep our faith in God, the One Who fully knows what the FUTURE holds for each one of us.

Have a great day LOOKING AHEAD BY LOOKING ABOVE!
