The True Benefit!

It is not enough to simply possess things. We must also have a proper understanding of their appropriate use. Someone has pointed out that “The use of money is all the advantage there is in having it.” [source: “1600 Squibs And Quips”, compiled by E. C. McKenzie] As Christians such a focus should be of great significance. Since we belong to God, whatever we possess belongs to Him as well, and we are to be GOOD STEWARDS of those things. Whether it be money, other possessions, or abilities, do we acknowledge the true benefit of everyone of these is in their being used? If they are not used we might as well not even possess them!

When Jesus told the parable of the talents ( Matthew 25:14-30) the focus was not centered so much on how much was gained as it was on what was put to use. Each was given according to their ability. One, however, did not live up to his ability. As we use our possessions and talents to the glory of God, we may not always know the extent of the return for our labors. The important thing is for us to just put them to use for godly purposes.

Peter encouraged…
“(10) As each has received a gift, USE IT TO SERVE ONE ANOTHER, AS GOOD STEWARDS OF GOD’S VARIED GRACE: (11) whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies -- in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” ( 1 Peter 4:10-11 ESV)

God does not expect any more from us that that which we possess. ( 2 Corinthians 8:12) What we must be mindful of is the putting to use of that which has been entrusted to us. May we strive to be the GOOD STEWARDS God will be pleased with that we too may someday hear the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant … enter into the joy of your Master.” (Matthew
25:21 & 23 ESV)

Have a great day AS A USER TO THE GLORY OF GOD!
