Getting Things Ready!

David looked around and above himself and asked…
“(3) When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, (4) WHAT IS MAN THAT YOU ARE MINDFUL OF HIM, and the son of man that you care for him?” ( Psalm 8:3-4 ESV)

Every time I read through the Genesis account of creation, I can’t help but think of what a wise and wonderful Creator we have. Reading through the order of creation from the first day (when God created light) to the second (when He separated the waters above from the waters below and gave us sky) followed by the third day (the creation of vegetation) and on to the fourth day (when God placed the sun, moon, and stars in the heavens by which we would know our days, seasons, and years) to the fifth day (with the creation of the creatures of the sea and the birds of the air) and finally coming to the sixth day (when He created the animals and then man) -- I can’t help but be struck by the view of each previous day’s creation providing that which would help sustain life for what was created next. With man being the crowning work of God’s creation (created in His image -- Genesis 1:27) it seems all that preceded was in PREPARATION for our existence. God created a place suitable for living life in the flesh and it was all good!

Are we sufficiently impressed with God’s ability to PREPARE and provide what is necessary for our continued existence? Do we ever question His ability? Certainly our walk in this realm is one of faith. Nevertheless, that faith can rest on a marvelous track record of God’s works revealed throughout the pages of Scripture. God PREPARES and He provides. Whatever He has planned He will do. All He has declared He is fully capable of fulfilling.

Just as God PREPARED this world as a suitable place to live our physical lives, He PREPARED the way for the coming of the Messiah to provide the means of a holy spiritual life as well. However, that has not been the end of Divine PREPARATORY work.

Jesus encouraged the disciples…
“(2) In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I GO TO PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU? (3) And if I GO AND PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU, I will come again and will take you to myself, THAT WHERE I AM YOU MAY BE ALSO.” ( John 14:2-3 ESV)

We are included in that promise of having a place PREPARED for an eternity above. ( 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) It should be clear what God is able to PREPARE. Perhaps the real issue for us to consider is our own PREPARATION for what God has in store. Now is the time to be PREPARED for that which is to come; Heaven being a PREPARED place for a PREPARED people. May we continue to live daily as genuine children of God seeking to please Him by following His Will.

Have a great day LIVING READY FOR GOD’S GREATEST PROVISION!
