Well, I Declare! (part 8)

LINKS in a chain. How important are they? Have you ever thought of your life as being a LINK in a chain? It has been said that a chain is only as strong as its weakest LINK. But what about “missing LINKS”? Evolutionists, in trying to draw their theories together, talk about missing LINKS of which they theorize in order to come up with their full picture. Even a weak LINK can serve some good, but what good is a “missing LINK”? A “missing LINK” raises questions and causes confusion. A “missing LINK” cannot be a part of pulling anything along or drawing anything together. A “missing LINK” cannot do its part.

A “missing LINK” is not what we want to be. We must keep in mind the LINK we are to the instilling of faith in others. We not only need to be mindful of our own spiritual lives and have a concern for our peers, but also realize our LINK to the NEXT GENERATION. It has been pointed out that apostasy (departure from God’s truth) is only a generation away. We must realize what an awesome and important role we have been called to fulfill.

The Psalmist stated:
“Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, till I DECLARE YOUR POWER to the NEXT GENERATION, your might to all who are to come.” ( Psalm 71:18 NIV)

Paul referred to the LINK in Timothy’s progress of faith.
“I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.” ( 2 Timothy 1:5 NIV)

As a LINK, we may (and should) still be focusing on becoming stronger in our faith, but we are not to wait till that process is complete before beginning to share our faith. As long as we are living our faith will be in the process of strengthening and being refined. Let us DECLARE God’s power to the NEXT GENERATION. Let us be a LINK in the chain of helping others see the difference God’s power has made in our lives and can make it theirs. And in the process our LINK will also become one that is stronger and more useful in God’s plan.
