Planning Stages!
Though we may not accomplish all our PLANS in this life, it is good to formulate them. Planning helps provide a sense of direction rather than leaving us aimlessly meandering through life, not knowing where we might end up. However, in the planning we must keep God’s Will in mind and be open to what He will bring in relation to those PLANS. To plan without a consciousness of God is not wise (note James 4:13-16), but when He is kept at the center of our PLANS we will find success in accordance with His purposes.
Note two statements from Solomon relating to PLANS.
“The PLANS of the heart belong to man, BUT THE ANSWER OF THE TONGUE IS FROM THE LORD.” ( Proverbs 16:1 ESV)
“The heart of man PLANS his way, BUT THE LORD ESTABLISHES HIS STEPS.” ( Proverbs 16:9 ESV)
As we begin to plan we may consider our own desires. To find joy in what we do is a good thing. Having the continued opportunity to preach and teach is exactly what I desire to do and a source of great joy. However, it is important to consider our PLANS with an earnest focus on God’s Will so that our desires can be brought into harmony with His, making sure the direction of our life is continually toward Him and ultimately focused for an eternity with Him. Then as we focus on moving ahead there is the need to consider how we respond to offers the world makes in relation to those PLANS and even how we speak of what has already been accomplished by us, guarding against coming across as if it was all us. Each step of the way we need to be open to the guidance and direction of God.
As we make our PLANS for life, may the answer of our tongue be from the perspective of the Lord’s Will and each step of fulfilling those PLANS be directed and established by Him. Since it is His purposes that shall prevail ( Proverbs 19:21), this is how we can be assured the taste of success He will ultimately provide.
Have a great day KEEPING GOD IN THE PROCESS!
