By and By!

There are some things we may struggle to understand while living in this earthly realm, which we will see more clearly by-and-by. However, there is much God has already clearly revealed through His Word BY which we should be greatly encouraged now.

Writing to the church at Rome Paul pointed out…
“(9) Since, therefore, we have now been justified BY his blood, much more shall we be saved BY him from the wrath of God. (10) For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God BY the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved BY his life.” ( Romans 5:9-10
ESV)

Where would we be without Christ? Without Him we have nothing that endures. All our earthly wealth and prestige will someday go bye-bye. Therefore, Christ must be recognized as our only abiding hope and glory. Through our connection to Him we have received blessing after blessing and “grace upon grace.” ( John 1:16)

Did you note in the two verses above the glorious provisions Paul stated are ours BY the work of Christ? As Christians, because we are in Christ Jesus now, we have been justified BY His blood. There is no way we can be justified by ourselves or the merits of any other earthly being. Our justification before God can only be ours because of Christ. We have also been saved from God’s wrath BY Him. Jesus paid the price for our sins and the penalty has been removed, thereby taking the wrath of God away from us. BY the death of Jesus we have been reconciled (brought back) to God and therefore saved BY His life. These are blessing BY which we should be eternally grateful as we live now to glorify and please God. May these truths encourage us to press on as we continue to live and serve the purposes of God in this realm.
