On The Journey!
Though I do a lot of walking on a regular basis (rain or shine) I have to admit there are still occasional days when I am tempted to not go. However, I always find once I have started I am so glad I did. No journey can ever be experienced unless it is begun.
Consider heading out early in the morning on a hike. Though the sun may not have fully risen to completely light the way and the morning air is a bit cool and damp, the anticipation of the journey and the thought of new discoveries along the way can greatly encourage the traveler to move on out. Then as the daylight gradually but steadily shines BRIGHTER AND BRIGHTER there arises a great sense of joy for having had enough desire to have begun the journey. With the full light of day what is seen reveals the journey was worth continuing the walk.
Solomon described the spiritual walk in this same manner.
“But the PATH OF THE RIGHTEOUS is like the LIGHT OF DAWN, which SHINES BRIGHTER AND BRIGHTER UNTIL FULL DAY.” ( Proverbs 4:19 ESV)
The journey on the path God lays before us is begun. We take the first steps carefully because the WAY is not fully clear to us. But as we continue to press on in His WAY, the understanding of all that relates to the Son gets BRIGHTER AND BRIGHTER as the day with Him unfolds until we are able to see very clearly the WAY in which we are being led. As we continue walking in the light as He is in the light ( 1 John 1:7) the path cannot help but continue to become BRIGHTER AND BRIGHTER the longer we travel in the WAY. As natural as it is with the sun of the day, it is even more so with the Son of the WAY to eternal life. May we resolve to continue steadfastly on the journey.
Have a great day WALKING IN THE LIGHT!
Carl
