Doing God's Will!
Doing God’s Will is something on which we should focus daily. Our willingness to follow the Will of God is a reflection of how much we appreciate the life He has provided and the eternal hope of which He assures us. As we come to know more and more of God’s Will, what we need to guard against is disregarding or attempting to explain away that which we may find difficult to do. Is God going to ask anything of us for which He will not provide the needed encouragement and strengthening? Accepting and following through with doing God’s Will is a matter of love for Him and a trusting faith in His continued provision for this life and eternity.
Paul exhorted the church at Thessalonica to…
“(16) Rejoice always, (17) pray without ceasing, (18) GIVE THANKS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES; for THIS IS THE WILL OF GOD in Christ Jesus for you.” ( 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ESV)
Rejoicing may come about very easily through the many wonderful experiences of life. Perhaps we also find it to be a very natural inclination to keep on praying through both the good times and the difficult. However, when it comes to being inclined to give thanks IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES, it is there we may find the struggle. Not ALL CIRCUMSTANCES are good! Not every situation is pleasant! However, Paul stated that giving thanks IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES is God’s will for us. It is what He desires us to do.
How is it possible for us to give thanks IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES? It is only because we are in Christ that such an attitude can be possible, for it is God Who has the power to work all things together for good. ( Romans 8:28) We might not always know what will become of every situation, but God does. Maintaining an unwavering faith in His Divine wisdom to know what is best for us and His supreme power to guard us for eternal life is what will help us retain a thankful spirit regardless of the situations we might be going through. May we keep our abiding trust in Him as we seek to always do His Will.
Have a great day THANKFUL GOD ALWAYS KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING!
