Not Be Moved!
With all the changing and flip-flopping that goes on around us with regard to where people stand and the varying values competing for acceptance, it is of paramount importance that our life is properly anchored in that which is FIRMLY ESTABLISHED. Without anything of a stable nature we will find our lives in the midst of turmoil. We are living in very turbulent times morally, politically, and spiritually. This may cause us to wonder at times what is going to eventually give way and what the fallout might be.
As I was reading in Isaiah this morning, the following verse caught my attention.
“ ‘For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but MY STEADFAST LOVE SHALL NOT DEPART from you, and MY COVENANT OF PEACE SHALL NOT BE REMOVED,’ says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” ( Isaiah 54:10 ESV)
What wonderful encouragement to God’s people that His love and covenant remained. The mountains could depart, but not the mountainous love of God. Though the hills might crack and crumble from the elements (wind and rain), God’s love has weathered well the challenges it has faced. Praise God His love has not been withdrawn. Except for by our own choice of departure, we cannot be separated from it. ( Romans 8:35-39)
When we become anxious regarding some of the things of life we need to remember God’s immoveable love. His love and promises are FIRMLY ESTABLISHED. And our concerns need to be brought to Him that we may receive assurance of being FIRMLY ESTABLISHED in Him.
David exhorted…
“CAST YOUR BURDEN ON THE LORD, and he will sustain you; HE WILL NEVER PERMIT THE RIGHTEOUS TO BE MOVED.” ( Psalm 55:22 ESV)
Our life can only be as strong as the foundation on which it rests. True stability will only come through remaining connected to that which is truly FIRMLY ESTABLISHED. May we remain securely connected to God’s immoveable love. Regardless of what is going on in this world He remains God and will always be our constant hope.
Have a great day WITH HOPE ASSUREDLY ANCHORED IN GOD!
Carl
