Self-Test!

Back when I was in school I can remember being given a pre-test. The test did not count for a grade, but was designed to help each of us in the class see how well prepared we were for the REAL EXAM! Some students, in cramming for their FINALS, might make up a self-test to see how much they know or have learned in order to gauge their preparedness for the FINAL ONE!
Such effort can help instill a sense of confidence in approaching the day.

As Paul neared the end of his second letter to the church at Corinth, he exhorted the brethren there to take a close look at themselves.
“EXAMINE YOURSELVES, to see whether you are in the faith. TEST YOURSELVES. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? — unless indeed you fail to meet the test!” ( 2 Corinthians 13:5
ESV)

Examine and test! To see whether or not we are in the faith is not something we want to leave to the last minute. Spending our time doing our own thing rather than spending it preparing for the eternity to come, expecting the opportunity to “cram” at the last minute, is a gamble we should not want to take. Now is the time to take a close look to see how spiritually fit our life might be. Now is the time to test and prove whether or not we are in the faith.

This is one test we do not want to fail! The day will come when God will declare whether or not we have PASSED the test. God has provide “all things that pertain to life and godliness” ( 2 Peter 1:3) so that we can be prepared for that day. Is Christ in us? Is His presence clearly evident? Are His attributes alive in our life? Are we truly striving to walk in His steps?

Let us take a close look at how well we are allowing God to transform our lives more and more into the image of His Son. If we are in Christ and Christ is in us, we can have confidence in approaching that FINAL DAY ( 1 John 4:17) before the Father.

Have a great day AS A GOOD STUDENT OF GODLINESS!
Carl
