Pearls! (Part 7 of 7)

Each pearl in a necklace has individual value. However, strung together, they make up something of even greater beauty and value. As we view each verse of God’s Word as a precious and valuable pearl of thought and wisdom, strung together they make up something of even greater beauty and that value should be recognized.

Each of the Beatitudes Jesus shared in His sermon on the mount (Matthew
5) contain a valuable stand alone lesson regarding attitude or character.
But strung together we see how they enhance each other and provide adornment for life of inestimable value. When we look at other teachings of Jesus and the Apostles, we may note other times they beautifully strung Scripture together.

Solomon wrote…
“(8) Hear, my son, your father’s instruction, and forsake not your mother’s teaching, (9) for they are A GRACEFUL GARLAND for your head AND PENDANTS for your neck.”” ( Proverbs 1:8-9 ESV)

And…

“A word fitly spoken is LIKE APPLES OF GOLD IN A SETTING OF SILVER.”
( Proverbs 25:11 ESV)

Perhaps you have wondered why I chose the pearls from Psalms we have considered over the last few days. The writer of Hebrews understood something about “timely words.” These pearls from Psalms that we have meditated upon were taken and strung together by the Hebrew writer. Reading through Hebrews 1:5,7,8-9,10-12, and 13 we see how he strung those passages together to help his readers understand the SUPREME SOVEREIGNTY AND ADEQUACY OF CHRIST. May He continue to be the highly exalted One in our life.

Have a great day FULLY COMMITTED TO THE LORD OF LIFE!
Carl
