Pearls! (Part 6 of 7)
The psalmist wrote…
“The LORD says to my Lord: ‘Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.’” ( Psalm 110:1 ESV)
The Messiah’s position was one established by God and would need to be understood as such. The right hand position pointed to one who was highly exalted and given a place of supreme importance.
These figures of the Messiah are those associated with images of warfare. Though Jesus came as one meek (gentle) and lowly ( Matthew 11:29) and was referred to as the Lamb of God ( John 1:36), He was in no way weak.
Jesus is the One Who leads us in victory over evil and the challenge of sin in our own lives. We should find comfort in the truth that one day He will be shown victorious over all His enemies. May we thank God that the Battle is the Lord’s as we follow on with Him.
Have a great day GAINING VICTORY IN CHRIST!
