Quality!

Art, architecture, manicured landscapes, etc., are sometimes analyzed with a view toward the character of the “master” behind them. The finished WORKS tell us something about the designer’s expertise, perspective, and skills. The WORKS may also provide insight into the heart behind them.

The statement has been made, “By the work one knows the workman.” [Jean de la Fontaine, “Fables,” book I, 1668, fable 21]

That seems to be the very thing Paul stated regarding God.
“(19) For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. (20) For his invisible attributes, namely, HIS ETERNAL POWER and DIVINE NATURE, have been CLEARLY PERCEIVED, ever since the creation of the world, IN THE THINGS THAT HAVE BEEN MADE. So they are without excuse.” ( Romans 1:19-20 ESV)

All that God has made declares something about Him. It reveals His great and awesome power, His wisdom, His Divine love and His ability to provide and sustain life. Everything in creation God made was good and served the purposes for which He made it. However, some of mankind (the part of God’s creation made in His own image) has taken some of His WORKMANSHIP and burned it, polluted it, thrown it out of balance, altered it, and denied the existence of the One behind it all. In light of the fact that God’s WORKMANSHIP should declare something about Him, how is our life helping others come to know our Creator and Master?

Paul reminded…
“For WE ARE HIS WORKMANSHIP, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS FOR GOOD WORKS, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” ( Ephesians 2:10
ESV)

May we truly reveal ourselves to be God’s quality WORKMANSHIP as we strive to do the WORKS He prepared for us to do, bearing in mind that the quality of our WORK will be tested. ( 1 Corinthians 3:13) Let us constantly live in a manner that provides a compelling reason for others to believe that He does exist and will reward those who diligently seek Him. (Hebrews
11:6)
