Perseverance! (Part 3 of 5)

Persevering! How do we do it? What can we focus on to maintain the fortitude necessary to keep on keeping on in the midst of trials and conflict in this corrupt world? Yesterday we considered the idea of remembering we are not alone. Here is something else for us to keep in mind.

#2 -- REMEMBER OUR ETERNAL FATHER IS IN IT FOR THE LONG HAUL.

God has always been providing the encouragement, the direction, and the means to carry out His will in order to move His followers in the direction He desires. Paul encouraged the Philippians brethren with these words:
“(4) In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy (5) because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, (6) being confident of this, that HE WHO BEGAN A GOOD WORK IN YOU WILL CARRY IT ON TO COMPLETION until the day of Christ Jesus.” ( Philippians 1:4-6 NIV)

Paul also reminded the Philippian brethren:
“for it is GOD who WORKS IN YOU to will and to act ACCORDING TO HIS GOOD PURPOSE.” ( Philippians 2:13 NIV)

God has not quit! In spite of the direction of man in the world, God has not given up on His plan of salvation. And He continues to work in and through us to fulfill His purposes.
