Fixed Price!
If you drive you may be concerned with the continuing rising cost of gas. We are seeing higher prices per gallon than we ever have. News in our area has also been reporting the rising of milk prices along with other milk products. The COSTS of various things seem to always be going up. Is there anything that is maintaining a consistency of COST?
Someone has said, “The price of sin is everlasting damnation, but that’s one price that never goes up.” [source: calendar quote]
The Scriptures are full of examples of those who were struck down by God because of their sin. God has always viewed departure from His Will as a serious thing. And eternal separation -- everlasting damnation -- remains the ultimate COST for living unrepentant lives. It is a COST that remains constant because no higher COST could be fixed. God, however, has provided the means by which we can be spared that fixed price.
Paul warned, but also encouraged…
“FOR THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH, BUT THE FREE GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD.” ( Romans 6:23 ESV)
The COST OF SIN is a high price to pay. The price for our redemption was a high price paid by our Lord. ( 1 Peter 1:19) We can pay for our sins, but we cannot buy our salvation. That price could only be paid by Christ alone on our behalf. However, to continue in sin means that no sacrifice for sin is left, but only the fearful expectation of God’s judgment. (Hebrews
10:26-27)
High prices generally cause us to shop wisely for the best deals. May we remain faithful to Christ in whom we have the greatest deal God could ever offer -- the eternal salvation of our soul.
Have a great day LIVING APPRECIATIVELY OF THE PRICE CHRIST PAID!
