A Revealing Life!

What does our life say to those around us? What do others come to KNOW because of the way we live? Or more importantly, WHO can they come to KNOW by our conduct?

Someone has well said, “Live in such a way that those who know you, but don’t know God, will come to know God because they know you.” [source unknown]

Israel was exhorted again and again to live in a way that the nations around them would KNOW that there was a God in Israel. Unfortunately that was often not the case. What is the case in the territory of our own life?

Peter exhorted…
“KEEP YOUR CONDUCT AMONG THE GENTILES HONORABLE, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, THEY MAY SEE YOUR GOOD DEEDS AND GLORIFY GOD on the day of visitation.” ( 1 Peter 2:12 ESV)

The manner of our words and actions ought to ultimately point attention toward God and our Lord, Jesus Christ. As followers of Christ, He is to be seen in our life. And unless we set self and our own desires aside, He will not be seen.

May those around us come to KNOW that God is Sovereign in our life and that the wisdom of our life is His. In this way they may come to KNOW HIM who holds even their eternity in His hands.
