Through The Valley!

Even in the daylight it is possible to find ourselves in the shadows.
Though the sun is still shining, darkness and gloom can surround us and the path before us may not be as bright as we would like. Walking under a canopy of trees or down in a deep valley, the sun’s brightness is often obscured, thus darkening our way. Life’s journey can sometimes feel much like that as well.

The lighting of our way in this realm may not always be as bright as we would desire. There are times when our walk is very much a walk of faith rather than one by sight ( 2 Corinthians 5:7) When such is the case, are we tempted to retreat, to stop, or do we PRESS ON, trusting God to bring us through?

In the beloved twenty-third psalm David stated…
“Even THOUGH I WALK THROUGH THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH, I will fear no evil, for YOU ARE WITH ME; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” ( Psalm 23:4 ESV)

In the valley, David did not say, “I stop there” or “I die there.” The focus was on walking through it. The valley was part of the path to where he journeyed. For a shepherd leading sheep, a valley was part of the route to the higher grazing area. When we experience the valleys in life we should remember that is merely what they are, and from there we can move onward and upward.

Valleys are often the routes to higher spiritual ground and though we my struggle seeing the light of God or the light of His Son, the Son of God is still reigning and shining on high. Let us therefore keep PRESSING ON. It may be just around the next bend that we will again glimpse the Son-light to make our path clearer.

Have a great day WALKING ON TOWARD THE HIGHER GROUND!
