Greater Conquest!

Throughout the history of mankind there has been the conquest of cities, nations and peoples. In some of these, mighty forces have drawn together to lay siege and conquer. And in the processes of it all, many lives have been affected, some for good and some for bad. Yet the territory most in need of conquest may be closer than we think.

Solomon stated…
“WHOEVER IS SLOW TO ANGER IS BETTER THAN THE MIGHTY, and HE WHO RULES HIS SPIRIT THAN HE WHO TAKES A CITY.” ( Proverbs 16:32 ESV)

“Better than the mighty” or “than he who takes a city” is the one able to practice SELF-CONTROL; the one who has learned to keep anger in check. How true that some who have won great victories or conquest in the world, have been found to have failed miserably with regard to their own personal lives.

When it comes to SELF-CONTROL, James mentioned anyone who is able to control the tongue and not stumble in what is said “is a perfect man.” ( James 3:2) Now, there is a worthwhile goal. There is the accomplishment and conquest to seek to obtain. It is the picture of a disciplined life being lived humbly before God and man. May God help us in the battle with self that we may gain this victory in accordance with His righteousness.

Have a great day WINNING THE BATTLES CLOSEST TO HOME!
