Being Known!
People talk. They form their opinions and state their conclusions.
Sometime we don’t like what they say about us or how they perceive our situation. Knowing their view and hearing their words can hurt deeply and give us cause for discouragement. What are we to do in such situations? Is there any thought that can cheer us and bring us comfort and encouragement?
Job stated…
“Even now, behold, MY WITNESS IS IN HEAVEN, and HE WHO TESTIFIES FOR ME IS ON HIGH.” ( Job 16:19 ESV)
Job’s friends accused him of great sinfulness. They surmised that was the cause of all that had come upon him. However, Job knew the life He had lived and that God was the WITNESS of it all. Even when our own perception of our life is not clear, we can find comfort in our relationship to God knowing that to Him we are fully known. ( 1 Corinthians 13:12)
God is the WITNESS of all that goes on around us and within us. His view is not hindered or skewed by anyone or anything. His perception is very clear. And since it is His view which matters most we can find comfort in having Him as our WITNESS as we strive to walk in accordance with His Will.
We also have One on high Who speaks on our behalf.
“For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, NOW TO APPEAR IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD ON OUR BEHALF.” ( Hebrews 9:24 ESV)
Jesus is our advocate with the Father. ( 1 John 2:1) In our relationship to Him He speaks on our behalf. And in Him we can find comfort that our condemnation has been removed. ( Romans 8:1) May we find great assurance and comfort in knowing we have such a WITNESS and advocate on high!
Have a great day UPLIFTED BY WHAT GOD KNOWS!
