Worship in Three Acts! (part 2 of 3)

In Psalm 96, there appear to be three specific emphases on worship. Yesterday we noted the act of song. Today consider the second act.

The psalmist exhorted…
“(7) ASCRIBE to the LORD, O families of the peoples, ASCRIBE to the LORD glory and strength! (8) ASCRIBE to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering, and come into his courts! (9) Worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness; tremble before him, all the earth!” ( Psalm 96:7-9 ESV)

ASCRIBE! ASCRIBE! ASCRIBE! Assign to Him. Attribute to Him. Give to Him. Credit Him. Acknowledge the glory and strength of His essence. Declare His worthiness of being worshipped.

ASCRIBE! ASCRIBE! ASCRIBE! We are to do it! It is action! We are to declare the greatness of God by word of mouth. Our view of God’s awesome glory and strength is to be evident in the trusting way in which we live according to His Will. It is to be worship of action and word throughout our daily lives.

ASCRIBE! ASCRIBE! ASCRIBE! It is to be sincere. It is to be heartfelt. It will happen in the life that maintains a worshipful focus on the majesty and sovereignty of God.

May every aspect of our being ASCRIBE, yes, ASCRIBE, and ASCRIBE again the glory and honor God is due. He is supremely worthy of such worship.

Have a great day MAKING A LIFE DECLARATION OF GOD’S AWESOMENESS!
