Tree of Life!
Would we seek fruit from dead wood? Could we honestly expect to find nourishment from that which had no life in itself? Of course not! We would look for a tree that showed signs of life; standing strong, healthy branches, lots of leaves, etc. However, when it comes to living, how many are searching for life from that which does not hold it?
The first place we read of a “tree of life” is in the garden of Eden. ( Genesis 2:9) God put it in the midst of the garden even before he placed Adam and Eve there. It was a BLESSED gift and provision for man from God. Adam and Eve were able to enjoy its fruit -- that is until they sinned and were driven from the garden. ( Genesis 3:22-24)
The last place we read of a “tree of life” is in the “paradise of God.” ( Revelation 2:7; 22:2, 14, & 19) God has prepared this tree in His paradise for the nourishment of the redeemed. According to Revelation this “tree of life” was prepared to be a BLESSING for those who had conquered and washed their robes.
But is there a “tree of life” for us right now? Is there a “tree of life” we can find that will provide a BLESSING for us today?
Solomon, referring to WISDOM, stated…
“SHE IS A TREE OF LIFE to those who lay hold of her; THOSE WHO HOLD HER FAST ARE CALLED BLESSED.” ( Proverbs 3:18 ESV)
WISDOM; a “tree of life.” As in folly one can find death, in the WISDOM of God is found true life. His WISDOM sustains. His WISDOM nourishes. His WISDOM brings BLESSINGS now and for eternity. May we seek and find the true satisfaction and nourishment the WISDOM of God has been preserved to provide.
Have a great day BLESSED BY WISDOM’S FRUIT!
Carl
