Rejoice Young Man (Lady)!
Life! We’re in it together. We may be committed for the long haul. But as we get older the time often arrives when it becomes more difficult to keep up with it all. However, a HEART for life is a powerful thing regardless of age.
Solomon declared…
“Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and LET YOUR HEART CHEER YOU in the days of your youth. WALK IN THE WAYS OF YOUR HEART and the sight of your eyes. But know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.” ( Ecclesiastes 11:9 ESV)
To you young men and women reading this focus I encourage you to understand the important role you can play in life and in the church right now. Don’t underestimate your usefulness to God as your open up your HEART and life to Him.
Your youth has a lot working in its favor. It is easy for youth to get excited and passionate about things believed in. There is such vigor --
almost an endless energy -- for taking life by the horns. In your youth you hold no long history of “we’ve tried that before and it didn’t work” to hinder the trying anyway. It’s possible the timing now is right for such efforts. In youth lies a grand possession of great zest and enthusiasm for life and all the possibilities it holds.
However, did you also note the caution. “BUT KNOW that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.” With all your passion and youthful vigor, always remember you must keep God’s Will -- His Divine desires -- in mind. Don’t lose sight of that in the midst of the excitement for life.
Solomon also stated…
“The HEART OF MAN PLANS his way, but the LORD ESTABLISHES his steps.” ( Proverbs 16:9 ESV)
Let us each, regardless of age, put our HEART into life while allowing God to direct or establish our steps. With an energized HEART for life to the glory of God, there is much that He can work in and through us. May we let it be so.
Have a great day LIVING TO THE FULLEST FOR GOD!
Carl
