Let It Spring Forth!

Today is the first day of Spring. I don’t know what the weather is like where you are, but I just returned from my ten mile walk and it has been a beautiful morning. The sun is shining on the snow capped Olympic Mountain Range, the budding trees are showing more and more color, the grass is greening up, some flowers have already bloomed and others are just about ready to burst open to display their brilliant colors. What a wonderful creation in which we live.

God has brought the sunshine and the rain to benefit His creation and cause it to be fruitful. Our senses of sight and smell can easily be captivated by it all. He wants us to enjoy it while giving Him the praise, for it is all the work of His hands.

However, that is not all God has rained down from above for the benefit of His creation. In Isaiah 45 God declared through His prophet how He has worked through others, being behind the subduing of nations, just as He has been involved in the works of creation. But God’s desire is also focused on the conquering of individual souls to bring about the fruit He created them to produce.

Through Isaiah we note…
“Shower, O heavens, from above, and LET THE CLOUDS RAIN DOWN RIGHTEOUSNESS; LET THE EARTH OPEN, THAT SALVATION AND RIGHTEOUSNESS MAY BEAR FRUIT; let the earth cause them both to sprout; I the Lord have created it.”
( Isaiah 45:8)

As the earth opens up to receive the rains of heaven, allowing them to soak in, are we open to the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD raining down upon us? Are we allowing it to soak in and saturate every aspect of our life? Are we accepting the shining of His Son upon us and in us to produce the FRUIT OF SALVATION AND RIGHTEOUSNESS that God desires to spring forth from our life?

It is the beginning of Spring! It is the reminder of new life, the greatest of which is that received in Christ. Let us soak in the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD that our life will produce much fruit in accordance with it.
