On My Mind?
What has been on our mind today? Do we sometimes have difficulty focusing because we have too many things on our mind? All those things we are trying to remember seem to get jumbled up and our fear is that because of it, we might forget something. But that’s what palm pilots and other electronic organizers, Day-timers ® (or other calendars), Post-it ® notes, and “To Do” lists are for. Recording the appointments and things to remember free up our mind to be able to focus on what we would rather THINK ABOUT or that which is of most importance. And what would that be?
In Psalms we read…
“O how I love your law! IT IS MY MEDITATION ALL THE DAY.” ( Psalm 119:97 ESV)
The New Living Translation reads “…I THINK ABOUT IT ALL DAY LONG.”
Paul exhorted…
“(8) Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS.” ( Philippians 4:8 ESV)
On what does our mind dwell throughout the day? With all the things we have to remember and deal with, we need to be careful we have not crowded out the things of God. His Word; something to THINK ABOUT morning, noon, and night. Anywhere, anytime, it is worthy of being kept on our mind. May we keep it there.
Have a great day THINKING ABOUT SUCH THINGS!
